Welcome to the New Forum
Re: Welcome to the New Forum
That was just the technical sub-forum I didn't have access to while logged in.
Now I don't have access to that sub-forum either logged in or logged off. I did well for myself!
What does one need to access the the tech forum? I see this "Membership in these closed forums may be based on criteria such as paid membership, number of posts, length of time as a registered user, and so on." Which one is it?

Re: Welcome to the New Forum
The easiest way is to pop along to the ariel.club shop and purchase a year's membership. The shop is here: https://ariel.club/shop/ and it's called "Ariel Club membership". There's a manual process from then which could take a few days.
I hope that helps.
Re: Welcome to the New Forum
Membership in the Shop is as advertised GBP 30.00, however I'm being charged GBP 5.95 for Shipping.
Is this correct?

I think the p&p is for the stickers that you get sent ....DriveAlpine wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 3:53 pm Membership in the Shop is as advertised GBP 30.00, however I'm being charged GBP 5.95 for Shipping.

Re: Welcome to the New Forum
Shouldn't be ?
This is what Steve posted on teh Ariel.Club Facebook :-
Anyone that joins or renews online in 2018, will receive them, FOC. From 2019, it'll be new members only. That should mean all members get a set eventually.

Thank you both. I will try again. If all else fails will average down the P&P and add a t-shirt

DriveAlpine did this get sorted for you?
310=325! That'll be the Presidential Remap kicking in...
Re: Welcome to the New Forum
Just jumping in here because I too asked Rob about this. I was told the P+P was for the membership pack/stickers. Is this incorrect and should I not have been charged?
Re: Welcome to the New Forum
I finally did it, I have bought an Atom.
It’s probably 10 years that I’ve wanted one.
I did a Supercar experience 6 years ago, to drive a Lambo, 911 and an Atom. It was the Atom that I wanted to drive.
It was sooooo crap. It wasn’t very quick, and I was totally disappointed.
So I bought other cars in between, but I still had unfinished business.
I took a drive down to Bristol a couple of weeks ago, test drove the car, loved it and left a deposit.
It’s the wrong time of the year to buy one, but you know when the wife gives you the green light..... don’t wait for circumstances to change, so I did the deed.
With the new 4 coming out, is this a clever thing to do? I didn’t fancy waiting 2 years for a new one. I will be too old to drive it.
Anyway, how much better can the new one be over the 3.5R?

Re: Welcome to the New Forum
Congratulations Tony and a warm welcome to Ariel Atom ownership and the Ariel Club forum.
I wouldn't worry too much about the '4' recently announced - The car has been evolving for 15 years or so - lots of folk still love their Atom 2 / Atom 1, so no problem there.
It looks like the K20 engined cars will still be popular and worth keeping and looking after as the new '4' Honda engine with the turbo is a completely different animal and many will want the superchargers !

Re: Welcome to the New Forum
I’ve ‘invested’ in the 3.5R.
Very excited, I should be collecting it during next week.
The garage gave me a really good test drive in it, must have been a good 25 mins, around some lovely roads, the longer I drove it the more impressed I felt.
It will take a long time to understand the car, as it’s so different to anything else out there, but that’s the fun part.
I’ve just joined and paid the membership today,.
I’m looking forward to attending some of the events next year.

Re: Welcome to the New Forum
As John said, welcome Tony! I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 3.5R! Is a fantastic machine. Give it some time to really get into the car, especially over winter but there will be plenty of events and opportunities to meet up and drive next year.
Where are you based?
