In a slightly more serious vein - do you normally carry the requisite minimum legal items required by French Traffic Law in your Atoms when you visit France?
1. Hi-vis vest
2. Warning triangle
3. Approved breathalyser test kit (in date)

My triangle is cased and fixed under the passenger seat, so I can forget about it. The other two live in my Atom man-bag.

Last time I drove in France was in 2007 when I drove a car from Cyprus back to the UK (Ro-Ro to Piraeus - car to Patras - ANEK ferry to Ancona - then drove via Florence to Porto Fino to Nice then up the centre of France via 'enjoyable' (hic!) 3 days in Nuits St Georges to Calais and thence back to the UK!
Bloody sure I had a triangle somewhere in my UK house - but my son can't find it - so today I have ordered this cheap Euro travel kit from Amazon :

Don't need the included beam changers (got changeover levers in the car) or the magnetic GB plate so will dump them - otherwise it seems a cheap and neat enough package!
Since I am coming in my daily driver, which is an estate and has plenty of space, I will also charge up and bring my RoadStart battery booster pack 'just in case' anybody should need it?

Are there any plans on where to go to eat on the evening of Friday 16th in Arromanches?
I cannot find any reference to a restaurant serving dinner at the Les Villas D'Arromanches - it appears that they may only offer a buffet petit-dejeuner - and lunch boxes if requested.
However the Hotel de la Marine on the seafront looks somewhat promising - it appears to be about a 600m walk from Les Villas ...!
Alternatively, if it meets with general approval, we could take my car - either to La Marine or elsewhere - which would allow everyone else to drink
to whatever level they wish!

I guess we will sus things out when we get there. looking on trip advisor there is quite a bit of choice. I am sure it won't be necessary for you to drive Paul but it is a great offer, do you not drink?

Re: Normandy Landings, 16-19 September 2016
I no longer trust any reviews posted in Trip Advisor as from bitter experience, there are far too many 'hookey' reviews posted by by 'friends' or sometimes 'enemies' (in the case of bad reviews) of the establishment in question!!
Some friends who run a family business restaurant in the tourist area of Limassol had their business effectively trashed by several of their rival restaurants in their immediate area colluding in posting very negative and false reviews on Trip Advisor in an attempt to drive them out of business in 2015.
- Trip Advisor refused to either edit or delete what were manifestly fictitious reviews by people who had obviously never eaten at their restaurant - who described, in minute detail, being served 'awful' dishes that, in reality, had never ever been available on their menu!!
- Trip Advisor exercises absolutely no control over the veracity of the reviews posted on their site
As to my drinking habits the answer is very little - usually maximum of a glass of wine or a small beer!

Re: Normandy Landings, 16-19 September 2016
I am afraid I do use tripadvisor with some scepticism, however I wasn't making reference to any particular reviews just that there are 21 places listed to eat. In my experience restaurants in France are very hit and miss. I am a fan of traditional food and for example won't eat pigeon, squirrel or other shite they try and palm off as food.
