London Dawn Raid - 18th April 2014

Post by Kezzie » Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:04 pm

Okay, let us try again ....

Do we want a Dawn Raid into London? If so, when would be suit most people?

Usual start point being Heston Services circa 7:30am on a given Sunday.
I was thinking early or late April subject to Boris not closing all the roads again. I have fired an email off to Boris's office and Transport for London to check on what planned events & closures they have.

Therefore can you please list your name if you'd like to join in and also indicate a preference for either date.
6th April or 20th April

Adrian

Love to get this ticked mate, either date is open for me.

Would be looking to trailer the car down from Bristol but need a safe place to leave it while on The Raid...??

Kezzie, sorry mate, a few more details for those new to the dawn raid! Sounds like a blast through the centre of town but just wanted to check?!

20th would be better for me...trying to work out logistics with the mrs as the new arrival will only be a few weeks old but keep me posted all the same!

Ok, I'll arrange things for the 20th subject to clearance from Boris.

Alex, generally it's as you say - a gentle blast through the street of London, taking in some of the sights and offering our own sight to behold for all the tourists etc.

The final stop off will be for a late breakfast at the Ace Cafe who I will contact and arrange for some parking if possible.

Sounds good. I will be very much playing it by ear and won't really know until a day before or so depending on how the new arrival is! I may have to just drive up that morning to avoid unnecessary hotel bookings etc. but would be very up for this!

Indeed it is.
Maybe we could turn it into an Atomic Easter egg hunt ;D :vroom:

Obviously if it deters anyone of a religious persuasion from attending then we could reconsider the date. However the following weekend is the first race weekend for Atom Cup 2014 and I for one will there.
The Ace Cafe has a "Custom & Cruiser Bike & Rocket 3 Owners Club" event on 20th April so parking might be a bit scarce.
13th April is a possibility now though.

Any of the dates work for me!

Richard has posted in a different thread about a trackday on April 5th if that has a bearing on anyone attending/not...

Yup. I'm in too. Either date works - although the one without rain is ideal ;)
