Curborough Sprint Course
Curborough Sprint Course
https://www.curborough.co.uk/
Just a gauge of interest at the moment a day at Curborough Sprint Course for nomads and atoms.
Alex and I have done some research on this the price for hire of the course for a day will be for.
A weekday is £720+£140 for insurance to the track.
A weekend is £840+£140 for insurance to the track.
This is up to 35 cars so if the interest is good its a cheap day out must have a minimum of 5 cars that would make it not worth doing.
A catering van is available at extra cost believe its just a burger van
dates will be dependent on COVID-19.

Re: Curborough Sprint Course
I'm in, love Curborough. It's a wonderful place to explore the limits of your car with very little to hit if you exceed them unless you're being very stupid indeed.
The catering shack will do a curry or a roast if there's enough of us.
I would recommend no more than 20 cars otherwise the wait between runs gets excessive. 12 is probably best.

I'd be in.
Not too far from me.
If a weekday likely spend couple hours there before returning to work but happy to pay for the day
Or would ask permission from the group to use remaining time to possibly test the Porsche race car we're building for 2021....
Or perhaps (and especially if Feb/March) I'd be happy to fund entirely the last 2 or 3 hours of the day so that we would have a private test session there. This would give the group 5-6 hours through the day with an earlier finish.
Just spit-balling here not trying to hijack.

Definitely in for this. If it's before May/June I'll be in my Tesla but looks like a great day out regardless.

Bumpy bump IanG.
I promised TBev I'd do some Nomad track day-type-thing with him in 2021.
Will Curborough get me off the hook?

Re: Curborough Sprint Course
+ another one if in May onwards
Re: Curborough Sprint Course
Driven this in my old ZT260, very tight and small circuit. The 6R4 brigade tend to use it on an annual basis.
If around will attend.

Re: Curborough Sprint Course
I'd come see - it's pretty local (about 45 mins away) for me
Re: Curborough Sprint Course
Does anybody on here know the organisers / circuit owners?
I've just sent an email regarding private hire for one car and I'm hoping they read it / take it seriously.

Bit far, but interested....
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.
Re: Curborough Sprint Course
Evening chaps.
So Ian and I have done a bit more looking into this. It seems very much like a 'empty field with tarmac' type of thing. You pick up the keys to the gate from John down the road. There's no electricity (but you can hire a generator), no First Aid stuff (we would be responsible for providing First Aid cover). No Marshals or time keepers. Sounds like a Pick up your litter and bury yer dead before leaving type of thing... There is a khazi though, but no shelter if it rains.
Anywho... for those that have been before, has anyone been as part of a private hire? As opposed to turning up to a public event that someone else has organised (like the events here).
We're wondering if it may be worth trying to find something that is a bit better organised so that we can just rock up and have a bit of fun without having to figure out what we are going to do when we get there. I guess we'd also need to nominate a litter monitor and a First Aider. And I don't trust Ian with a stopwatch! He still reckons he is quicker than me
Anyone got any experience of a private event here? Sounds a bit much like hard work on the day if I'm honest...
Ta.

I've attended there before.
Yes, you have to be organised.
Cars go out one at a time to lap. It's a tiny circuit. But challenging.
But, hiring Donny for the club would be likely £7-10k....
Hey, I'm game if you are
