Re: cant upload pictures
forum. if I try to upload a 75kb pic (jpg) I get this:
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information.

I've gotten the same message ever since the migration - I had chalked it up to being away from home on an unfamiliar computer.
Just tried changing avatar pics again and I'm not getting the message, but the picture still doesn't upload.

Re: cant upload pictures
Knowing PHP a little I'd guess it's either the path to the avatar/uploads folder in the configuration or read/write permissions to that directory on the server.

Permmisions was my first stab and upload path my second, both had errors but both are now correct and the problem still exists, hence i'll have to dig abit deeper, I will see it there are any log files, they might give me a clue.
Unfortunatly cucustance ment i didn't have long to test, and there were a lot of changes made in the background in one go:
Diffrent version of mySQL and on windows not Linux
Servered from IIS not Apache
Newer version of PHP on Windows not Linux
Split server setup now mySQL and the websever are on seperate servers.
Now the site sits behind a Application Layer Firewall (not sure if it did before but either way the setup will be diffrent)
I'm sure there were others, so i'm not suprised there is an error or two. The gallery is also giving the same error so i'm now begining to suspect the PHP setup.
Can you give me a step by step how you get the error so i can test it myself please.

Wisp other than to say we ran phpBB under linux biting my tongue on that one.... You do like to stir the pot (wheres that devil smiley?)
To replicate it:
generate a reply or new message,
do a preview,
click the additional options
and then try to attach a file .... you'll see the error message.
