The Quaife diff is the geared type and so not overly fussy about the fluid. Pop 'Quaife oil' in to google for the Quaife tech support statement

Same applies IF its the Honda OEM LSD as fitted as standard in the later Type R transmissions. As I recall they are Torsen Type LSD's using a helical tapered gear pack and work with standard EP oils.

Do a little research on REDLINE MTL  :tu:

I used to have a FN2 type R and had already bought the Amsoil. But never used it.

Was wondering if I should use it in the Atom

With the synchro weakness when driving the box hard, I have heard of - I would take a look at the Redline MTL - It was fantastic in the caterham 6 speed that was very notchy when very hot and in the duratec cars with the added heat under the bonnet and the tranny tunnel it was the oil to use in the box for sure!

I also see some of the specials Honda forum chaps are discussing it. There does seem to be a little confusion though over type of LSD in some earlier cars compared to the later model of gbox and lsd...

From what I've read it's fine with our LSD's.

It also states on the bottle it's a direct replacement for Honda MTF

After some more digging about it seems a fair few people have had a great experience with the MTL in the Honda box! Si I know what I will be using on my winter box oil drop..... :tu:
