Anyone interested in a dyno day?

Post by Peter255 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 8:12 pm

There has been a lot of talk recently of different engine specs, and outputs. What about a quick test? It should be fun to see / hear some cars run up on the rollers. >:D

I've used these guys before..... if a while back and for the Clio...

http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/ based in Farnborough these days.

They used to be pretty good, and being neutral they are going to give a more accurate reading than a tuner that's just sold you lots of shiny expensive parts!  ;)

Anyone interested? If not i'll pop along with some of the Clio boys or something...

£50 for a power run, or £40 on Saturdays. If we get numbers I can ask for a discount. ???

Point of note, I have seen many potentially damaging fueling issues spotted on such days. So as well as being fun and interesting its also quite a good idea to check fuelling under load etc once in a while....
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

Good stuff guys that's a nice little set of different engine types too.

We have the older K20a (me), Alex's newer K20z  ??? , and Andrews current K24.

Anyone else up for it? Anyone with a supercharged k24? That would be perfect! Full house!

Does Sat work for everyone?

I took my 2.4 supercharged Atom to Northampton Motorsport dyno a couple of months ago and came up with 297 HP.

That's good to hear, right on the money (I believe it should be 300BHP). However could you scan the dyno traces for us and share them on here? That would be very interesting...

Sadly results vary wildly between dynos (I have seen this before! :( ) but I am still interested in your results.

Cheers
