This is the email I had from CERN..

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message.

We have checked all our bookings and exceptionally are pleased to inform you that you (12 person-s) can join an English group (08 people) on Saturday 16 August 2014 at 14h00. Please be at reception by 13h45 or even earlier if you wish to visit our exhibitions as CERN will be closing at the end of your guided visit.

***However, please note that in the case of any last minute changes (cancellations or added participants for the English group), CERN reserves the right to cancel/modify your visit.

PROGRAM: Introductory talk (~30 mins) + Film (~15 mins)  + Visit to an experimental area above ground (~2hrs)
Please note that the visit program might change with regards to the experimental facilities, which may or may not be available, due to operational reasons connected to the running of CERN’s scientific programme.

TRANSPORT TO BE USED DURING THE VISIT:  CERN is going to provide the transport during your visit to our premises.

*** Our shuttle service has a limited number of seats therefore we are unable to accept any more people in your group.

*** Please note also that it is compulsory to wear closed shoes. People wearing open shoes or high heels will not be admitted access to experimental sites.

*** For safety reasons, children under 13 years  are not allowed to participate in CERN guided tours.

In addition to the half-day tour of one of CERN's experimental sites, we encourage you to plan a visit to our two exhibitions: “Microcosm” and "Universe of particles":

Here is a link on how to get to CERN:

**** Due to the high demand of visits, we would kindly like to ask you to confirm this date within a week. If we do not receive your confirmation we will assume you are no longer interested.

We remain at your disposal for any further information you may require.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best regards,

Hi again,
Where does one place the Swiss vignette  on the atom.????

Also who's not putting on a front number plate, as I heard the Swiss can be a little bit picky about such things,

any tips pls and your thoughts.

Lived in Zurich for two years... no problem with the plate (they're used to very small front plates y'know).

It's the french that can cut up rough (especially at the chunnel). Last time I printed up a paper one and spraymounted it on until I got into France proper (give me your reg and I'll print one up for you if you like. I also carry a spare in the 'boot'.

The vignette can go on the 'dashboard' I put mine on the left hand side (the 'driver's' side) in front of the mirror stalk facing forwards.

I'll be buying mine at the border on the way to CERN (or another border if there's no vignette required there).
