John, if you've just driven 137 miles to get home, how do you get the total mileage to 2,892 miles when you had already travelled 2,957 miles when you dropped off your car at Ariel?

I make the total to be 3,094 miles.
My mistake I took the wrong mileage for the start of the trip you are correct.
If that's the case then:-

So, for winning, does Alec get to donate double what Nathan's just done?
Yes, and admitting to using sat nav actually means it should be trebled  :D
Nice of Bruce to suggest that I double Nathan's donation but I already had a figure in mind which is why I kept asking you what the final figure was.

With a final mileage of 3,094 my guess of 3,232 is only 138 miles out so I will donate £1 per mile that I was out by to your charity.

I will arrange to transfer the £138 as soon as I can.  :tu:

Edited for clarity due to Ben's misinterpretation.

If you think a donation of that size would be appropriate I will gladly go 50/50 with you.  :tu:

Yes, eventually but then I don't get up very early unless I have to so my days are on a different schedule to most people.

When you end up rattling around your house completely alone after a lifetime of sharing there isn't any references to work to and time just drifts by.

That's not just hours either but days and weeks disappearing with nothing seeming to get done.

Take the last three weeks when I was trying to coordinate the repair and return of my car, I seem to have spent the whole time either on the phone or waiting for calls to be returned.

Not counting weekends it involved more than75 calls and emails over 13 days of activity while working around family health problems and appointments including a day in hospital for myself for pre-op assessment & tests.

After the hectic weekend of the Anglesey trackday I am just now trying to catch up with what needs to be done, like contacting the factory over the problems that have surfaced regarding the work that was done (or not) on my car and the charges made.

Just a gentle nudge!  My donations page runs out in 5 days.  I was collecting for CHASE, a local charity, who offer a diversity of needs based care and support for life-limited children and their families through its community care team and at the CHASE children's hospice - Christopher's - near Guildford. CHASE currently cares for 240 families throughout Surrey, SW London and Sussex.

Thanks to all of those of you who have already given.

If you donate generously this will not appear as my avarta again   ;)

John, I see you've almost reached the £400 mark with only just over a day to go.

If no one else donates before the deadline then I'll round it up for you.  :tu:
