Defiantly, they were certainly looking like wona-be slicks.

Unfortunately had a bit of an opps at the end of the day and have damaged my front wish bones, well at least the factory wasn't to far, felt very embarrass and piss off at the same time.

Know the feeling - once did a wishbone on a track in France (luckily had the trailer) and as the car slid ever so gently into the tyre wall, I was thinking "This isn't that fast, I won't damage much". And I didn't, but still annoying. Better than the scooby that did the same as me but which cost about ten times as much to sort.

Was that on the track? I'm surprised you were going fast enough!

That upright is an expensive little bit of metal isn't it? I needed one of those a year or so ago... made me wince too!

The track was dusty from the Drifters should have paid more attention, got to the bottom hairpins, snatch my front wheel right at the turning in point and slide 2ft on to the grass (at which point it was all over) and carried on the remaining 4ft into the bank. I hit at about 15 may be 20 mph tops didn't really even feel a jolt, the tyre's and wishbone slowed me down very gracefuly.

Did the kid go "Wow can we do that again?"  Sorry to hear of your problem,  I never do like going round that track clockwise.

It's currently being repaired.  £300.  I just hope they manage to get a decent match on the areas they've fixed.  I've since noticed though that the mudguard took a knock so that'll probably need replacing at some point as it's cracked the gelcoat.

How much did your lot work out at in the end?  We could probably do with a list somewhere of typical costs for fixing parts like uprights, wishbones, mudguards, nose cone etc.

Stevo and I will be going on Wednesday if anyone else wants to join us.

We'll take Piers' experience as a cautionary tale...

I would, it was a £2500 tale, I can't believe it's possible to so much damage from such a little shunt. To really finish my week someone hit me up the arse at Cadwell this weekend too. >:(

Ouch!  Sorry to hear about this.  Much damage Piers?  What happens insurance wise in situations like this?

Cheers, Ross.

What insurance, £2500 excess or 30% which ever is greater. Fortunatly it is all cosmetic, nothing structural.

1 Mudflap
1 Mudflap Bracket
1 Light Bracket
1 Light Cluster
1 Tea Tray

It's been a bad week for the Atom, It appears i've bought 10% new Atom.

Commiserations, Piers!

Trackday shunts are a bugger. You know whose fault it is, but there's bugger all you can claim off them! You've signed it all away...

Sorry to hear the tales of woe Piers, I can imagine how you must feel :(

I think if I was responsible for causing damage to someone elses car whether on the track or not, I'd feel liable to put the damage right despite what had been signed.

What was the reaction of the 'offending' driver?
