....with a quick raid into Oxfordshire as well.

This weekends weather is looking quite good, so some of us in the Thames Valley area planning a Sunday morning drive, meet up for breakfast, then head home.

Drivers so far...

Winmoz

IanG

See details below if you want to join us for part or all of it. Let me know if you want to meet us at Theale (below) or just turn up for breakfast in Wantage if coming from elsewhere further north or west. It will be good to meet some new owners, or more of the regulars

Meet at 0800 on lay-by on A340 just north of A4 Bath Road near Theale

We will then drive up A340 to Pangbourne, along A329 to Streatly, B4009 to Hermitage, and up to Wantage along B4494. We will get to Wantage around 0900, stop in the town square and have breakfast there. A number of places to choose from. Probably take away and sit/stand around the cars in the square.

After that we will head out to Ashbury on B4507 then down B4000 down to Lambourn and Newbury where we split up and head for home before lunch

Looking forward to a good trip as there aren’t too many weekends left before the days get a lot shorter and the temperature drops!

Graeme

I know that route well as it passes close to my UK house.

- I think that you are being a trifle optimistic in that it'll only take 'about an hour' to get to Wantage from that lay-by!

To do so would be mightily impressive!

Paul

It’s what MyRoute-app tells me.

30.5 miles. 55 minutes?

Atoms should do it quicker :)

ill check it on google in case MyRouteApp has it wrong

Berkshire council have banned him from the county. He leaves too much rubber on their roads

Graeme, i tried myroute and just didn’t get on with it. Might try Google this time around. Being massively lazy, but do you have the second leg plotted as you have shared for the first?

Normally I just navigate by sticking to the car in front, but that might be Peter, and I don’t want have to bring my binoculars.

Winmoz, I mainly use MyRouteApp on euro trips or uk trips. Its much better for planning routes to download to SatNav, allowing you to drive on the exact roads you want. Google has a habit of re-routing you off the twisty atom roads onto the boring nearby dual carriageway.

Anyway here is the second leg out of Wantage to just before Newbury where I suppose we will split up

https://goo.gl/maps/Tr8Ynusm3ZPaRRh8A

Summary of the morning then...

Theale meeting point 0800

GraemeW
Winmoz
Peter255
Sommi
Rob Evans

Streatley meeting point 0815 (car park on Streatley Hill, B4009)
we will slow down but not stop, if you're ready

Ian G
Mark

We will all drive onto Wantage town square for breakfast at approx 0900. We can decide there who does second leg, or split up after breakfast etc. maybe we will get some other join us there from elsewhere.

ill check back here later today if anymore go-shows :-)

Is that with the Peugeot rolling road block factored in or out?
