AAOC Karting

Post by Atom120 » Thu Mar 09, 2006 1:16 pm

How about an Ariel Atom Owners' Club karting event - primarily a fun day out, but it will get competitive - they always do!

I'd propose somewhere like Daytona Milton Keynes - decent track, and fairly central to most people. At a guess, it'll cost around £60 per head, depending on what sort of event we want to go for. Could be great opportunity for current Atom owners, and future owners to get on track together.

Afterwards, we all move on to a pub lunch or similar, and get to discuss how confused we are that James's kart appeard to have 150bhop more than anyone else's up the straight...

I'm waaaaay to heavy to win - despite the fact that I could win if I wanted to, so I'll pass on competing in this. Happy to tag along, though...

Perhaps if I compete as well we could form some kind of heavyweight division

Its not about the winning - its about the crashing into Fastbuck, and such like.

We could quite easily sub-divide into a light-weight (sub-100kg) and heavy-weight divisions. But like I say - its primarily a bit of fun, an excuse for a pub-lunch, and a way of including non-Atom-owners in some driving.

Come on Bruce...

I'm proposing sometime mid-summer, probably mid-July...

Here's the track. We'd be running the international circuit:

Nope. Not heavy enough. You've got three months to put on another stone or so - get eating!!

Something else for me to spin.  I'm on the crash diet for this.

Just add lead weights to even up the competition.

Sounds great as we never get competative in our Atoms at track days.

Regardless of it being quite a trek I'd still make an effort to journey down. Have a feeling I might get battered by Andy though(not literally). At least I only weigh 75kgs!!!

I'm definetly up for this, probably the first time I will meet many of you :tu:

Just be gentle with me, I'm not a racing driver though I may be a lightweight at only 88kg (and I'm trying to lose weight :o)

How much is a 'stone'? (before someone smarts off with 3 pebbles, I prefer it in kg or lbs) :)
