Be careful if you have no front number plate on your car
Re: Be careful if you have no front number plate on your car
On our trip to North Wales
A known hotspot area for incorrect number plates
We found a friendly chat a big help Get them sorted or else.
No mention of front plates
No fines either

Oh mate, don't say that...I feel like I have a target on my back. tbh this has really p*ssed me off today. The copper that pulled us over was a complete numpty, jobs worth and hated anyone owning any sort of supercar. Perhaps he should have given his education more attention and got a better job but don't get me started there.

They also had the gumball rally that weekend
So they were out in force 20 plus for over 100mph he said
I always find a friendly chat works out better

In my experience, attitude is a large part of the outcome in these circumstances.
These boys are doing a job and trying to keep idiot drivers, uninsured and dangerous vehicles off the road - nuff respect! They must get all kinds of abuse in their line of work.
Smile and wave boys, smile and wave...

I agree Karl, and I was polite, nodded and said "yes sir". But it had little benefit it seems.

Yep.
I gave a very young BiB a bit of a shock by 'quietly' bringing my AA2 to a stop behind him as he was directing traffic.
'You must have been speeding to come up behind me so fast!'
'Yes it does 152mph!' Says my very excited passenger godson
...smile, wave, shrug shoulders and look innocent
(Top tip - don't give your excitable soon to be passenger *any* stats for the car in question, just in case it maybe used against you )

This is one of the reasons I bought a very short personal registration plate before my Atom build was completed.
There's no need to mis-space it, and the front stick-on plate is close enough to look like it's a race car number, which I'm happy with.
When I've been pulled over, I'm always polite & cheerful, and as soon as I can get it in, I offer them my contact details for if they'd like a passenger ride when they're off duty.
No takers up to now, but during last year's Sporting Beard Dream Rides at Aintree Circuit, in the lunch break, helpers get a chance to have a ride in one of the vehicles, so I offered a passenger ride to the Traffic Officer, who was participating in his Patrol Car, and he accepted.
Afterwards he was made up, saying he couldn't wait to tell his son, who does Kart Racing, all about it.
It felt good blasting down Railway Straight at 130mph with a cop in the car.

Currently going through parliament is a change to Vehicle Registration Offences:
https://services.parliament.uk/bills/20 ... oints.html
This would take the penalty for any deviation from the spec to 1000, and 3 penalty points.

Sounds like he's not a fan of motorbikes on warm summer days...phil4 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:10 pm Currently going through parliament is a change to Vehicle Registration Offences:
