150 Years of Ariel Festival 2020 - Postponed
Re: 150 Years of Ariel Festival
shame its not a bit more central to the country ! weekdays mean some of us might go for one day or so , and all those up north wont want to travel that far so will miss out as usual ... always seems to be down by the factory ….3 hours + drive so sadly I wont be going .

As long as you do it in period clothing, it's fine.
First Atomised 2001.

Count me in guys! I'm rallying the Atom X bunch along for an molecular proportion convoy and hopefully start the party in the ferry!
Last trip in the Atom was planned 2 years ago to just go to the factory for a chassis overhaul and i didn't expect to find a brand new 2006 mk2 Atom back, the factory is absolutely magic! Im gonna shine you all out to shame in the concourse with my vintageness!
Just wondering who my copilot will be!

No rooms at the inn left! Booked the Sheperds hut, bed is 5'8", I am 6'3"
Hopefully tired from all the driving
See you all there if not before.

Those rooms didn't hang around long.
I'm booked into 'The Showman's Wagon.' Looks snug.
Anyone heading down the night before?
Rob.

Re: 150 Years of Ariel Festival
I spent 3 nights in the Showman's Wagon in June 2018 while I waited to pick up my rebuilt 3.5R - the car was due to be ready a couple of days earlier but completion was held up as Zircotec failed to deliver the ceramicised exhaust back to the Ariel factory by the date promised!
- the Showman's is not too bad to stay in and the bed was comfotable even if the bedroom itself is a bit 'cozy' in size - however it smells a trifle damp when it's been raining but is quite convenient for accessing the hotel's facilities - but it could definitely benefit from better lighting!!

All book up!
Nomad owners you have to try the 4x4 coarse at Thruxton. If you think you know all that your Nomad can do think again!
You will also be getting Badgers out of your grill for weeks.
Now then,where am i ?

Hope for the best I guess.

Re: 150 Years of Ariel Festival
I assume this is going to be cancelled or postponed?
With the factory closed for the next few weeks, I guess it’s wait and see?
Shame the factory closed, was hoping they’d start making ventilators (with amazing power to weight ratios that got people back up and running in 2.8 seconds)

Re: 150 Years of Ariel Festival 2020 - Postponed
An update sent out from Ariel today with regards this event:
Unfortunately, given the current climate with regards COVID-19, problems caused by the need for social distancing, possible issues with local lockdowns and restrictions on international travel, we have taken the decision to postpone the event until September 2021 when hopefully the world will be rid of the Coronavirus – or at least have it under control!
We will need to confirm dates with Thruxton when they get their racing calendar later in the year, but at the moment the plan is to run the Fesitval in the exact same format on 13th, 14th,15th and 16th September 2021.
We will endeavour to hold prices from this years event. In the case of those of you booked with Haselbury Mill, they will hold the prices and any deposits taken as guarantees of reservations for the event next year.
