For the Atom tyres, you'd get better accuracy going for a gauge with a better low pressure range like this :-
0-15 psi are also available ..

John
The objective of using a device such as the Norshire inflator is to cut down on the number of gadgets needed to be carried about.
The Norshire is a very well made, simple and quick to use, battery driven digital tyre pressures pump that fits neatly into the 'frunk' and doesn't require a power source (until, that is, it needs recharging!).
As Simon has pointed out it should be perfect for quick tyre pressure adjustments wherever and whenever needed.

Re: I do so love a gadget!
Sorry, to clarify, I wasn’t suggesting the gadget wasn’t a good product.
I was just saying that measuring the Atom tyres with an analog dial gauge that went from 0 to 130 psi wasn’t going to be as accurate as a 0 to 30 psi one when trying to measure a tyre pressure around 12 psi.

Re: I do so love a gadget!
I did a bit of testing of the Norshire over the weekend and here are my findings:
3 tools:
- my BMW internal tyre pressure computer
- trusty Sealey tyre gauge
- Norshire
I inflated the front tyres to 35 psi (this is not an Atom!) using the Norshire so let it do it's thing. It self turns off once at the correct pressure, you simply bash in 35 psi, press start and sit back and relax.
I then measured the front left using itself (Norshire), the BMW onboard computer and the Sealey and got 3 different results!
So for the front left here are my readings:
BMW reads 42 psi
Sealey reads about 45 psi
Norshire 33 psi
So my theory is the Sealey is over reading by about 2-3 psi. The Norshire is way off.
Another interesting thing, even though I used the Norshire on both front tyres, BMW reports a 4 psi difference between them as does the Sealey.
I will get them all calibrated though to be sure. So, I'd say use the Norshire for topping up pressures track side but get it calibrated or use an analogue gauge that you trust to be sure once you have finished topping up and release excess pressure as needed.
I can confirm 10 min runtime is about right on a single charge. I tried the cigarette connection once the battery had drained and this was fine.
Ignore the rears - I hadn't actually used the pump on any of the rear tyres.

Yep, you are right. It's kind of hard to know which is correct. I will get them calibrated so I know whether to add + or - to these readings. The accuracy is really important because it is the difference to a car having no grip to either lots of grip.
Re: I do so love a gadget!
I’d recommend this, you could then get 4 different readings for less than £3 extra
