PistonHeads Car Runs - Auckland NZ
PistonHeads Car Runs - Auckland NZ
Jared and I went on a little tiki tour (Kiwi speak for outing) with a few other cars.
We went to Hunua Falls
This was one of several I took in the car park...
...then on to here for lunch..... http://www.hotelduvin.co.nz
...and finally to the home of this creation... http://www.hypercars.co.nz
Unfortunately the DSN390 had an argument with the armco some days before our arrival and was up on a table being rebuilt.

Something about the height of the screen and the seat backs mess up the DSN390 for me... like they've modified it so Shaq can drive it... Sexy lines though...
Looks like it was a gorgeous drive though. More picts?

I was quite impressed with the controls inside the Tuscan and it's was my lady's pick of cars next to the Atoms.

I did not take that many photos. I have to rig up something where I can stow my camera but still get it out easily when a photo opportunity arises.
For those of you that are on FaceBook there are a couple of albums by other people that attended. Here is one that is set so it can be viewed by all.

Hey Kylie, what's a Lotus girl doing lurking around on the Atom forum. Checking up on Jared and I?
You need to hit Jared up for that ride in the 3. Maybe we can prevent you from changing to those Italian marques.

Haha! well been told to join ages ago and learn more about the marque - so why not.
Yip im not keen on taking my giant roller skate out in the rain either *dodgy* Re Italian, always on the cards for the future, know I can sell mine if I had to which puts me close to Bull money. But been told im nuts to let this one go and after bouncing off Lotus types last night at the pub, its still nice to know its appreciated in the Club.

Re: PistonHeads Car Runs - Auckland NZ 11/04/10
Summer is supposed to be drawing to a close but Sunday didn't seem like it.
A group of like minded car enthusiast, some who were on the last run and some new, set off on a drive through the countryside in beautiful sunshine. The route included country and coastal roads as well as a nice windy gorge.
If anyone is interested in the route click here
I did not take a camera so these are a few of the ones posted on PH by Rare350.
At the start rendezvous
This is some of the road.
(This is an older picture of mine as I posted a YouTube clip of this section of road over two years ago- see link in picture)
(This picture also contains a link to an older YouTube clip of the road)
We stopped at a few points on the way to regroup.
The final destination... Waitete Orchard for lunch - Waihi
Jared and Pip head off.
I took an extended tour on the way back with an Elise in tow. We explored some more of the less frequently used roads on the way home.

I think the size of the 1 v 3 is an optical illusion.

Great photographs. NZ looks superb, I went there many years ago and had a brilliant time, I am considering going again for the Rugby World Cup in 2011 but the travel kills me!
Again great photos.

I once heard the following reason not to goto NZ
"24 hours on a plane and you end up in Scotland!"
But then again tempted to join you in 2011, that or the Lions the year after.

It sure was. Kylie <Rare350> does a great job of organising them.
