Who is selling in New Zealand

Post by wisp » Sat May 26, 2007 2:52 pm

It appears there is a car for sale in Wellington. My son's friend found it on the Trade-Me website.

Does anyone know about this car. I thought there was one in the area but I believed it was black.

wisp, any idea what size the front number plate on this car is? Ideally in metric units of measurement (i.e. cm or mm). Thanks.

A standard plate 360W x 125H mm

I have a message plate that has addition text above and below the registration. It measures 360W x 155H mm.
You can also get a Euro style plate measuring 520W x 112H mm.

There are a few examples if you click here

Have you ever tried whether that Euro style plate fitted as well without interfering with the wheels?

No I have not. However you probably noticed I have been posting about making a plate bracket http://forum.atomclub.com/index.php/topic,4780.0.html.

I have change the design from the original picture, supplied by Open Wheelers, so that the plate is on more of an angle. This should allow an even a longer plate to be fitted and still provide tyre clearance.

No it won't unless the bracket allows it to be mounted slightly forward so that it projects into the nosecone as shown in the photos below.

As long as it is far enough forward to allow the longer Euro size plate to extend into the nosecone like in the righthand photo otherwise it will foul the front wheel like in the lefthand photo.

The picture may not be that clear but that is the top edge (white) of my plate that you can see. The wheel is on the left of the picture. Due to the angle of the bracket, the plate could be a metre long and still remain clear of the front tyre.
