Hey,

Does anyone know if there are noise limit on the track day, and if so, what are they?

In an ideal world, I’d like to keep my sports exhaust on.

Hi Sven. That's not going to be an option I'm afraid mate. You won't be allowed on. I'm changing mine too just for the weekend. Sorry bud. Unless you strap it in the car and bring it with you?

No worries Alex. I just wanted to know if I needed to swop them over or not.

Cheers

Hi Alex
I haven't done a track day before so do you need track day insurance? If so wheres the best place to get it? Can you get fuel at the track or do you need to bring some? I have booked everything except the green laneing with Henry but he is doing a recce around the 10th i believe so i will ring him soon after. Looking forwards to it all!
Cheers.

Hi Dunny,

Personally I would have insurance yes. Reis are a good place to start but there are a number of companies on the website who also do td insurance. Excesses can vary widely too so check.

Fuel is available from a garage down the road so no problems there. Just get a full tank to start.

Yes will check with Henry whats going on there. We didn't have a terribly successful fit recce so hopefully can come up with some routes on round 2. If not it'll be a while group run for the day.

There are quite a few trackday insurance specialists - many that have come into being fairly recently...

Give some of them a go.

Bear in mind that you're insuring your car only (and in some cases bits of Armco etc.*) The insurance probably won't pay out on the other person's car - whosever fault it is.

*As an example, if you damage 5 meters of single height Armco at the 'Ring, you could be on the hook for a €150 fee for men in a truck to come out to assess the damage, plus the €150 (€31 per metre) to replace it if damaged. And if your car is stuffed after a crash there, the cost of recovery starts at €600 minimum.

So, all booked for the track day and the Saturday night in the Hotel. With regards to the meal, are kids invited or should we lock them in our rooms (along with a responsible carer?) Does anyone know if the Hotel does a minding service?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve, we haven't factored in the children for food yet as traditionally older children haven't joined us for the Christmas events, only very young children who didn't need food or who ate earlier.

Of course the children are welcome so let me know if you would like them to join for food or whether they will eat before hand (how old are yours?). Similarly if they join us, would you want them to join for the full paid 3 course meal for example or would you like me to find out if they can do a child's menu for the evening? The various bars do food throughout the day if not. The Friday bbq is pretty flexible anyway I think so it's mainly for Saturday evening.

The hotel does also have a minder service which should be booked in advance. Give them a call. Pete is using their services for his 2 young children so he may know too.

Any questions give me a shout.

Alex

Awesome, will call the hotel and see if we can book a minder as our two are fussy blighters so would probably only eat the bread rolls!

No worries mate. It's exactly the reason why we didn't initially organise children's meals. No point paying for stuff they won't eat. I'll leave it with you mate.

NOMAD LANING UPDATE

Having Been out at the weekend (some of you may have seen on Instagram) the Lanes round Bicester are all SHUT. Farmer has padlocked all the gates :(

However there is an alternative -

Salisbury Plain.

Its about an hours drive from the Hotel. We could spend 3-4 Hours on Salisbury Plain and then drive between 1-2 hours back to the Hotel afterwards.
My self and Kelvin from the Factory drove the route at the weekend - me with no underbody protection whatsoever and Kelvin with all of it.

Its possible with no underbody protection but I was being very careful choosing my lines - so protection is recommended!

Thoughts?

Give me ring if you want to discuss... 01460 78817

I have used these guys in the past:
https://trackday.moris.co.uk/

Usually the trackday excess is 10 pct of the insured amount.
