Alternative Bluetooth Comms system

Post by autobackup » Sat Dec 12, 2015 9:50 am

I have just ordered (on spec and in hope) some 'Bluesim® Sport Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Stereo in ear' jogging/exercise Bluetooth earphones (with microphone) for £23.99 from Amazon - purely as an experiment to see if they will work OK.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012ZFV5FG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I think (hoping!) that they will fit under my Shark helmet OK and obviously, unlike a dedicated helmet system, can also be used around town when not using a helmet.

Rather disappointingly they appear to only connect to 2 devices however, for my purposes, this is probably adequate (TomTom Rider Satnav & smartphone).

If they don't work in my Atom I'm only 'out' £24 so it's no real loss - but I shall be really pleased if they do work satisfactorily!

What finally made up my mind was the fact that they come with a 'blue' connecting cord and, guess what, my Atom is Porsche Riviera Blue!!

FYI - They also come with black, green (looks more yellowish to me!) and orange connecting cords.

For some reason the black cord version costs 5 quid more at £28.99!

I am happy to say that my Bluesim Bluetooth headset works fine when navigating with my TomTom Rider but is less successful when using a mobile phone!

Reception of a call is great but, due to the position of the headset microphone which is close to the earbud, using it with a helmet my voice is very muffled to the person on the other end of the phone - however without a helmet it works OK using a phone - but not at too high a speed due to the inevitable wind roar into the microphone!

Just gone for an Interphone F5 setup.

Only done one track day so far but voice quality seems excellent.
Easily paired to phone and radio too!

Cheers,
