Atom 4 - dashboard fogging

Post by TheBoyes » Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:42 pm

Hi all

First post on the forum so please be gentle!
Had my Atom 4 since last August last year, bough used 2020 plate with only 700 miles on the clock.

Anyway not used it for a while due to the fantastic weather we've been having but last week or so conditions have somewhat improved such that I've done a few small trips - but have the dash all fogging up.

Have reported it to the factory, and working on fixing it (by sending the dash in - so car will be off road for a while, just as the weather improves :'( ). Hopefully they will turn it round quickly.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar (car is garaged when not in use)?

Cheers

Rick

This one is new to me, so I asked in the atom 4 owners whatsapp group (which you are welcome to join) and there are some owners who have experienced this on early morning or rainy drives and it cleared up on itself…not to helpfull maybe if you have send the part out allready

I noticed some last weekend. Car been in a cool garage all winter and was on its first outing of the year, but it cleared overnight. Was driving yesterday back from Ariel in heavy rain,so expected to see some condensation this morning, but there was none

That's for the feedback Speedmachine and GraemeW.
Haven't removed the dash as yet, will be a job for the weekend.
It doesn't appear to be clearing on mine, has been like that for last 2 trips. If the sun stays out I may take it out again this evening for a longer run and see if there's any improvement.
If not I'll ship it back to the factory.

How do you join the Atom 4 WhatsApp group?

Cheers

Rick

I’ve had it a couple of times on mine - usually after damp, early morning trips, but it clears as the sun comes out. I told Steve at the factory about it so that if it does end up causing it to fail they know it was like that from new.
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

Thanks robfitz - I've been exchanging mails with Steve about it. I went out on the sunny(!) day of the easter weekend and it did clear itself this time. I have a service at the factory later in the month so going to leave it on fr now and discuss it further when I'm there.
