Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Hello gentlemen.
I am Abel Court from Belgium. Passionate about timepieces and cars. Mostly Heuer (now TAG Heuer) and Porsche. I restore/repair vintage chronographs from the sixties and seventies.
Currently I am waiting for my new Atom 4 to be delivered somewhere in summer. I am located in Belgium, 80km away from Spa-Francorchamps and 20km away from Zolder. Have been on Silverstone one time as well.
In the past three years I drove a Porsche GT3 Cup (991.1). For me it was/is a dream in the past 3 years and 6000km on track. But the car eats a lot of my precious time as I like to work on it myself (with the help of a professional Porsche expert) on this car...and it also eats a lot of money, a lot ;-) I thought about replacing it long and hard but couldn't find a decent alternative as it doesn't get much better then a Porsche Cup car on track. I searched for something fast, fun and with low running costs. Also something that keeps its value a bit. So an Atom 4 it will be!
Looking very much forward to it!
Best regards from Belgium,
Abel.

Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Hi there, I live pretty close and owned 2 atoms, just sold my BAC Mono and am now in a lotus 3-11. Will you be trying to get a licenseplate on it?

The idea is to try and get it registered here in Belgium indeed. But not sure it will be possible after all the mess with Brexit. We’ll see. It would be a nice bonus.
Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Welcome to the club. I love Porsches and a GT3 cup car must be one of the best track cars out there.
The Atom will be very different, but I am sure you will enjoy it and that it will cost a lot less to maintain!

I really liked the YouTube videos on your Mono. The 3-11 is another fantastic car, but how come you decided to move way from the Mono?speedmachine wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:29 pm Hi there, I live pretty close and owned 2 atoms, just sold my BAC Mono and am now in a lotus 3-11. Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Bit of topic hijack, but I sold it due to it being worth really, and I mean REALLY a lot of money to a workslave like me. But it was a dream and I knew I had to achieve it BEFORE brexit and I knew it would be worth more after I register it in NL. So took the plunge, had 5000 insanely cool km’s and now sold it and for that amount of money I bought the 3-11, a 6000 mile clio trophy racecar (with license plate), a carlift and garage overhaul, a paid off extra shed for more cars and storage and kept money in the bank to buy one more carFastlane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:08 amI really liked the YouTube videos on your Mono. So mostly due to money reasons and after you owned it I could not justify keeping so much cash locked up in one car and not be able to drive the whole season.
Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Well, you have the actual value of the car itself (can hurt when you crash it), and the running costs...your BAC Mono must have been an epic drive, but I can perfectly feel what your dilemma was...I had thesame with my GT3 Cup (I am also a workslave and very limited financially speaking when it comes to my passion for cars), advantage of these cars is when you service them like it should, they retain good value (but costs hands full of money) and in your situation you played very smart with the registration too, fantastic. For me personally concerning the GT3 Cup car...I have been there and done that, it was one of my dreams and am happy I could drive it 3 years on track. Looking very much forward to the Atom 4 now as I am hoping it will give me sort like "pure" feeling as I had in my Go-Karting period end of the nineties here in the Belgian competition...speedmachine wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:38 amBit of topic hijack, but I sold it due to it being worth really, and I mean REALLY a lot of money to a workslave like me. Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
I wasnt afraid of depritiation, but I wanted to drive longer than only very summery days. Atoms, xbows, 3-11’s bac mono’s, they arent the best of all weather cars for me, so I wanted to “spread” the invested money. Also the 3-11 costs half the money and gives 99% the fun and adds a little practicality in the mix. Which also makes it less dedicated, but I needed that after a year of ultra hardcore driving
Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
Had a visit at the Ariel factory yesterday. Nice to see such a tidy atelier and to meet the friendly people behind the emails. Super exciting to see my Atom 4 as good as ready and very much looking forward to drive that thing!

Re: Waiting for my Atom 4 - Belgium
I am in Borgloon, postal code 3840...not far from Maastricht. Where are you located? My AA4 will be ready in next week or so...just looking into some possibilities to get it here and to keep options open to get it registered in future to come here in Belgium (probably chances are small, but let's wait and see...).speedmachine wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:37 pmWhere are you in Belgium?
