Do I need a towing eye for track days ? I suppose what I should be asking is what are essentials to spec on a 245 ? and what would you take the wait and see attitude to ?

Suggest a search to see discussions on specs and 245vs300, and you will have days of reading.

Personal view is, I got 300 as I already had a 160. But if its yr first Atom nice to get the 245 and then have something to upgrade to. Gives you a bit of experience of it too before getting full power. It will save you £5000 at purchase time too.

Tow hook - personally didnt bother.

omfg :-)

Rich took me out, f*ck me its quick, f*ck me it goes round corners like a cornery thing, double f*ck me it stops even quicker.

Thanks to rich for coming out to see me and spending a load of time talking through pretty much everything I would need to know about purchasing, owning and running an Atom. I now need a 245, alcon brakes (back), adjustable suspension and some other bits. I've driven fast cars (JP1, Palmer Audi) before but this was on another level, i've never been in a car where acceleration hurts, you could get whiplash if you weren't expecting the acceleration. My kids came out to have a look (Wow was all they could say ) (ages 7 & 4) they immediately went back in to tell their mother that they wanted a racecar, especially after Oli (the oldest) got to sit in the drivers seat and wobble about with a helmet on ;-)

I'm still smiling now, the only problem I have is potentially a 2yr wait whilst I save .....

Next stop, try a 245 with Rob, then get to a track day to see what a track experience is like, then factory visit, then deposit ....

Its about 4 hours later and I can still feel the car, the whine of the supercharger and the smell of brakes and clutch ....

Reasonable difference in insurance cost 245 -> 300.
