Look again...
I would LOVE a Ford powered Atom
I wonder if Brammo would sell one without a drivetrain?

I would think the porsche boxer engine would do the trick give us 2 extra cylinders and loads more options of transmissions, final drive, etc....
Re: dec 2006 300hp atom for sale
^Very interesting Driver. The Porsche drivetrain would be more costly to repair, but is a proven design and strong.
I recently saw a 2004 Boxter S 6 speed (42k miles) at a salvage auction that had rolled with a complete operating drivetrain.(nice black seats too)Sold for $3200.
Ford options are limited.A GT40 would be an overkill for sure, but an excellent dream. An SVT Contour 2.5 6cyl. (with a 3.0 lower end) would supply 300whp and torquey!MTX-75 transaxle (bullit-proof) and tons of support for more when needed.
Not as exotic as a Boxter powered Atom though

Re: dec 2006 300hp atom for sale
I would think one of the older air cooled Porsche Engines. Possibly getting rid of the Water cooling would be all in keeping with the simplicity of the Atom's design.
And of course if it just came with the option for me to "plug in" my x model Porsche engine then I could just source my own either new or from a donor myself. Hey! I can dream a little can't I?

Re: dec 2006 300hp atom for sale
I'll never tell On Ebay,if you bid higher than the reserve,it automatically goes to the reserve amount, and proxy bidding happens after that.
Assuming your opening bid is higher than $50k...
The things I could do with a second Atom!
