What tyre size

OK firstly, apologies it's not a question about my Atom but know there are some very bright people on here so thought I'd tap into this knowledge.
I've just changed my BMW 530d xdrive touring for exactly the same but newer but it's sitting on the more popular 20" alloys. I actually prefer the drive I got from my previous 19" wheels, so the question is, what profile 19" tyres will I need to get the same radius as the 20" 30 profile ?
Thanks in advance

What width tyres are currently on the 20" rims, as the 30 profile is relative to the width? You'd probably be ok with a 35 profile on the 19" but could try putting your wheels specs into willtheyfit.com and try different sizes.

Try something like this to compare.

Assuming it's on the 245\35R20 fronts and 275\30R20 rears then the 19" equivalents are 245\40R19 front and 275\35R19 rear.

Same width but slightly higher profile. Using 19" wheels obviously.

The 19" tyres are 0.4% bigger in diameter and circumference but a whopping 18.7% deeper in sidewall depth.

Brilliant, thanks for your help on this, really helpful

So having slagged them off who wants to buy a set of 20" M sport wheels and tyres off a 2020 BMW ;D

The next dilemma is run flats or non run flats

BTW I was surprised to find my BMW was supplied with MOE tyres (i.e Mercedes origional equipment)

I dislike run flats. Worse ride, worse dynamics.

Maybe you could find someone with 19" wheels that wants an upgrade? Try Pistonheads or owners forums.
