2010 F1 Predictions

Let's make our predictions for the season now, before the 1st race, so we can laugh at ourselves in a few months time.  Please pick a driver's champion and make some other predictions. 

Here's mine:
WDC:  1. Alonso, 2. Vettel, 3. Massa
WCC:  Ferrari

Race winners: ^ those 3, plus Schumi, Weber, & Hamilton. 

Best of the new teams: Virgin.

Very hard to predict.  There's 4 teams and at least 8 drivers that might win races.  Questionable FIA penalties have effected the overall standings the past few years, so its worth considering who they might favor - Ferrari, Schumacher, Massa?  With Max out of the FIA, will this continue?

More general predictions from me:

Button to be closer to Hamilton than anyone expects, but it will go Hamilton's way this year.

Championship Hamilton, Button, Vettel

The above is not necessarily a realistic prediction but don't want to see Ferrari succeed!

Sauber to be the best of the rest.

I honestly dont know this year. I have not followed the practice sessions etc

it certainly seems to be the most
exciting season I can remember. Com'on bring it on!!!

For the year:

1. Vettel
2. Alonso
3. Hamilton

Dont want Alonso up there but I think he will be.

As Ben said I also think Button will be closer to Hamilton, he is super smooth and Hamilton does like to drop it under a bit of pressure now and then!!

Schumi will be on form I think, great engine, good car, and Ross Brawn.

I hope Lotus do well and it is great to see them back, maybe top of the lower teams, maybe even above some 2009 teams?

Quite and exciting year, question is when will the first scandal break!!!!

Button above Hamilton ?  brave man. 

Being objective I think I will see how the FIA treat Ferrari under the new regime, if they look less bias then nothing against them / Massa.  Alonso remains out of favour chez Yeats!

I expect it to be something like:

1. Alonso (i really hope not though)
2. Vettel
3. Hamilton
4. Massa

I would like to see:

1. Button
2. Webber
3. Schumacher
4. Vettel

Best of the new teams: Lotus (Trulli in quali trim could be an occasional upset?)

End result is so open this year it seems but some real racing and overtaking would be nice. I have heard mention of pit stops of less than 2 seconds, surely not possible?

I have a bet on Mark Webber to be champion, he has just as good a chance as Vettel IMO yet much longer odds.

On reflection I may have wasted my money as I can't see anyone outside the McLaren / Ferrari group winning either title.

Also, i agree with Martin Brundle, why not let Stefan GP race who are fully 100% prepared and have a good car ready with Ralf Schumacher and J Villeneuve ready and waiting, and let Hispania go on the track with a car only 70% ready, come on FIA, let them on next year, even Virgin are not completely ready yet.

I do not like the new segments to Bahrain, a bit over the top.

Another astute observation, Dext? I kept a "close eye" on him, as suggested.
He qualified 10th, finished 12th, nil points.

And you had another "say" after stating this was your only one?!
