Re: Atom and Ktm
My X-Bow is covered too, Only chips are inthe film now, not the paintwork!
Well worth it in my opinion and would definately get it done again

What film did you use? Might get mine done.

Terry, they obviously did a great job covering all of your panels, because I'm standing right there in the pic you posted and I looked closely at your car several times during AtomFest II, and I never noticed the coating materials.

Don't know, it was done already before I bought it! If you are serious, tell me what town you live in and I'll find out who's best off another forum I frequent

The only way you can tell (by sight) is to look at places where the 1/4-turn fasteners are - the film doesn't stretch into those depressions, so there's a circle cut in it. If you run your fingers across the complex folds on the tea tray, you can feel the seams where the material joins together.

Hi, Hedge
Mine's been 'filmed'. The front half of the nose, the air intake hoop and all suspension rods. I think Ariel have stopped fitting it now (makes no sense to me), but Tom said they had a few kits left. If they've run out, I know a guy who will cut to any pattern you supply him. It's dead easy to fit if you're methodical and do it sober/with a steady hand/not with John H when he's on a bender.

When I get mine, I'll bell you, Steve. I remember Tom not being overly complimentary about the filming they used? I'm happy to try anything though - especially to protect those suspension rods etc.
Thanks,
Hedge

Re: Atom and Ktm
So far, so good. It's kept the bonnet tidy and the rods are in really smart shape at 8000m. The intake hoop is pretty much unmarked. Wish I'd put more on the painted mudguards (my own film pattern) because they've suffered in a place I forgot to cover. I gave my film guy some Adobe Illustrator files as templates for those.
I guess the best plan is to not follow other cars too closely on road or track. But that can be hard to do when you're on a charge.

Spotted white Xbow in Haslemere High Street on Sunday 14th mid afternoon, don't suppose you spotted me driving past in my Nissan Note
PS as a moderator I feel an overwhelming urge to merge this thread with the other XBow one, why should XBow have the 2 biggest threads on the Atom forum???
