To put a new perspective on the term "open passing" - here's a video of one of my Spec Miata races.

Looks like rush hour traffic on the Boston expressway..   Amazingly close competition. All it takes is a misshift or two wheels off and back you go! I was wondering where the red Miata went you passed at 20:10 until he ended up on your left quarter and went for a spin. HA! Good save... it does look like a lot of fun. I don't know as I have the self control to race that close. Well done

Looked like you were in your old Motocross days on those off-road jaunts

Part 2 shows the rest of this race, which was a lot different.  No more contact, hectic passes, or big mistakes (except on the last lap).  The car I followed the rest of the way is one of the local front runners, and I was happy to be able to put pressure on him.
