Forum Structure

I find the structure too deep and confusing.

Before it was, or seemed far simpler.

For example to post about an Event.
I need to go from the login page -> Welcome to the Club Forum -> Events -> UK. Thats 3 levels to get to see the posts that seems too complex for me.

Can the structure be flattened somewhat?

Also having the rest of the Atom chat separate confused me a little.

It appears having all vehicles and all locations has added complexity. I get why its been done but it seems a bit complicated.

Just my thoughts....

3 clicks of a mouse to create an event. Er, your point is what, exactly?.....

Sorry, I must be missing something.

Just my 2c :pop:

Peter

Just click 'Quick Links' next to the 3 horizontal lines

In my opinion the forums structure should be as flat as possible to avoid confusion hence my post.

I am suggesting we make it look and feel as simple and efficient as possible. Putting everything in separate sub-folders / pages does not help navigation.

Why not just have events (which are not specific to a particular vehicle) in the board index? If you wish to hide it from non-members then i am sure you can do so from the user accounts rather than putting it in the club folder.

Just trying to give constructive feedback.

And thanks for the pointer autobackup! :tu:

that pointer to quick links only works for recent new activity, so Peter you are right if you wish to go to a topic thats current but not recent, then you have to go thorough the sections as you say.

But, again, my point is 3 clicks? You want less than 3 clicks?

Ok....

Hi Hedge

I don't think the number of clicks is the issue, for me its remembering where the topic is in the structure. I suppose if i use it more often then i get used to it. But quite often I have to try and remember where a particular topic is. I suppose search is another option

Maybe add some new Quick Links entries using this add-on https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... &t=2420291

I don't think there's any question that this forum is much harder to navigate than the old one.

I tried to post an event and almost gave up.

Any UX guys own Atoms?

Hi guys, I'm happy to flatten it somewhat and will do so when I have a chance.

The structure was set up this way so that specific model stuff would be in a forum, and whole of club stuff would be in another but let me see what I can do.

Ok I've tried to bring some of the more prominent areas to the front so they are easier to find. Atom and Nomad chat along with events and clubroom for example. The more specific stuff is still under the sub headings.

Any other suggestions, let me know.
