Cars & Coffee July 26th

Post by CalScot » Tue Jul 22, 2008 11:41 pm

Anybody up for C&C this coming weekend?
No particular special occasion, until a bunch of us show up ;D

I might be up for a quick run afterwards.
My Atom has not turned a crank since the WCA, so I am looking forward to a wee blast this weekend.

Not this time...I finally got my project Miata up and running, and am holding another one of my Tech Days to celebrate as a result.  If you're interested, you'd be more than welcome to stop by that day.  ;D

I would take it to C&C, but it needs various minutae taken care of before I can take it out on public roads (smog, mirrors, glass, interior, etc.)

BTW, I need to make arrangements with you to stop by your place and pick up my junk from WCA.

I think Maverick is up for it!

Fiesty, my car is exactly the same as the day I came back from WCA. Filth and all! All I have done for weeks is golf, go fishing and goof off :)

I have Shinoo's spare shocks to put on and get my Bilstiens sent of for a rebuild. I also have to cut & fit the fenders. That's all just a couple of beers after work stuff. I should have no worries getting to C&C.

I do have the motor to pull again to see where that tranny leak is comming from. I think the case might be cracked as I have replaced all the seals ???
I will have John ovehaul the motor again to make sure it's all good. I had the busted Quaife kit shipped back to the UK to see WTF is wrong with it. CPL in the UK is working on a "better" Honda dog kit that might be the answer for me. I might get a working kit from them this winter. I have several upgrades planned. Custom driveshafts, uprights, hubs. I plan to run the motor at it's full potential of over 500. The new wings will be needed to keep it on the ground. I feel the need for speed ;D

CalScot, it's beginning to sound like the function to maintenance ratio is similar to that of a fighter jet! Of course........ I guess it's quite similar to that of a fighter jet!

My first run in the Atom in a while. Geez that thing is a fast little sumofabum. ;D

What a cool bunch of cars at C&C today. Lambo day with just dozens and dozens of auto porn stars on display. A good selection of rare Ferrari's and many one off cool cars. Fiesty, Shinno, Maverick all showed up. Fiesty had to park in the spectators overflow parking lot as the place was packed. Hundreds of cars on display. The place just gets more popular every week. It's nuts.

The star of todays C&C was the Gumpert Apollo. Brand new with dealer plates. It drew a huge crowd around it as it came in late and caught everyones attention.

Yeah, Calscot was quite distracted with not just the cars  ;).
The Gumpert Apollo was something else, the crowd was 10 deep trying to get a look!
This show is really growing exponentially, even I cant get a parking spot!
Today's show is the best I have been to. 40+ Lambos, 7 R35 GT-R's, Apollo, Veyron, easy 300 million worth of cars!

I thought this was an interesting article on Cars & Coffee which encapsulates the the whole spirit pretty well.
Any Car nut coming to visit So Cal really needs to attend this. This weekend was just great. It got me right back into the car thing again after a month or so of being lazy, fishing and golfing.

Unless there are two "Halloween" Bugatti's, it's the same one as last year.  I've heard the guy only brings it once a year on no particular day.  I went probably 80% of the Saturdays I was in So Cal last summer for my internship and only saw it once.

Anything with a atti in it. Bugatti, Maseratti, Rebecca Ferratti. All good in my book. It's a different aspect seeing, smelling or hearing any of those in person versus the pages of a magazine.

Jealous in Austin.  ;)
