Cars & Coffee,.....March 29th

Post by CalScot » Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:38 pm

I am planning on having my Saturday morning java at C&C this coming weekend. It's Alfa's this week.
If anybody wants to show up and maybe go for a 2-3 hour drive afterwards, I will see you there!

I am up for a drive on Sunday as well. Maybe to Palomar Moutain via Ortega or up Highway 18 to Big Bear. Early start of 6:30am to miss the traffic and get an open run up the mountain.

Are you still driving around on slicks? Saw the picts at Spaz's. How long before the Po-Po take a interest? :) Of course you could outrun just about anything these days... :D

Any word on what is going to be the theme the weekend of the WCA at C&C?

And I'll be getting up at 5am (which will actually be 4am as the clocks go forward) to drive over to Kent for a hoon.  In the dark, in the rain, meeting at a cafe, having full English with stewed tea and at least 4 teaspoons of sugar, then driving around in more rain or possibly sleet, by 9am stuck behind some 70yr old going 30mph on their way to the Garden Centre, then at lunchtime ending up in a pub drinking warm beer, eating an over cooked sunday roast.

Glorious!!  Makes you proud to be British.  ;)

Still on slicks as the R888 in 245 never came in last week. Taking a chance on the slicks for sure, but they are safer than the shagged out DOT tires I have. Hope the R888's get here this week or I will order something else.

No idea on what C&C will have as the feature so far in advance. Noes not matter, it's alway a grand display of automotive porn and obscene material wealth.  ;D  It's one of the best (and free) car shows on the planet, every weekend.

I miss a good pub! No such creature within 50 miles of me. Have to go to Santa Monica or maybe the "Ship" in Fullerton. Otherwise it's Americana stuff your face places only.

Ahh, the "ship" in Fullerton....always wanted to go there, but never got around to it.  We should plan an invasion some Friday night.

In the spirit of "a grand display of automotive porn and obscene material wealth", lets park side by side, and wail our Honda's together past 8k  :o :D. Should get the attention of just about everyone west of the Mississippi. :D Plus it would be fun to compare how insane yours sounds to mine. ;)

CalScot...if I can get my ass out of bed in time for C & C and then for some canyon runs...to make things fair....since you are a much better driver than me, how about we switch cars to even things up... ;D
Cheersâ?¢

I am only good for a morning jaunt. I have to go the see "Phantom of the Opera" at the OC perfoming arts theatre with the wife and kids for a Matinee perfomance. Does not matter that we saw it on Broadway with Mr. Crawford, or twice in LA. My Wife's a theatre nut and we have season tickets. Then I leave for Baja for two days golfing Saturday night, so no Sunday drive as I first thought.

If we left C&C at 8:30, we could get a good drive in till about 12 noon. I need to be home at 12:30 or it will be a hand job for two months at my house.

I am open for suggestions on a route. Prefer a fast open road as opposed to the coast but it's all good.
