The Chump Car Series.

Post by Flying Phil » Sat Dec 17, 2011 5:32 am

Are there any other Atom owners/enthusiasts who compete in the Chump car series? My team competes mostly in the western U.S. and western Canada in our '79 Mazda RX7 - our team is called The Wrankels.

That looks like a seriously good laugh ;D just been watching a YouTube video of them roaring around Laguna Seca, looks brilliant! If i lived over there id be in - a nice BMW E30 325i would fit the bill perfectly i reckon!

Yep as Tom says, if I lived anywhere near I would be doing that.  Although most of the cars are probably nicer than my usual daily drivers.

Chump Car events are awesome!  I do about 4 races a year with that organization....This past season we ran 2 x 7 hours races, a 24 hour race(at VIR in my backyard!) and a 25 hour race in Ohio(This race was actually 25 hours, 25 minutes, and 25 seconds...but who is counting)

The racing is way better than the other series(I am refering to the 24 hours of lemons).  Chumpcar is affordable racing with no costumes are wacky penalties that you encounter with lemons.  The Chumpcar series, at least in our region, is generally made up of racers just looking for more seat time.  The driving quality is quite high in the front half of the field.

We run an EG Civic that is generally one of the faster cars in the events....it is reliable, fun to drive, and cheap!  Mealtime racing is our team - A play on words from the Real Time Acuras.  The Civic fits much better in the rules than a BMW does.

Ben and Tom - Any interest in coming over to an event and running with Mealtime Racing? Make it a worthwhile trip and come to the VIR 24 hour race next season.  You can call it a business trip as TMI is located here.
