Brammo Atoms...power on,engine not running,alt light on or off?

Alt light is never on. I guess it's OK.

I've never seen that light turn on... and I just went out to my car and double checked... I've never EVER seen that light.

Maybe it kicks on when the battery gets below a certain voltage. Care to turn the switch on, turn on the lights, and let it sit for a while and measure the voltage? :)

You don't want to see that light - I saw it when my alternator died, and then I saw it again when I didn't tighten my alternator wire tight enough.
