As I've read, I think the temp must go up to ~200 before the thermostat turns the fan on- it's that cold GA weather!

get some cardboard and block all airflow around the radiator, throw a tarp over the back half of the engine area. That fan HAS to come on eventually if it's functional and wired correctly.

No, but it's nasty. If it's too cold, even the radiational cooling will pull the heat out of the radiator. I learned that really well with shifter karts a few years back- as you have to let them warm up to proper temps before race start. It's difficult when temps are below~50 or so. Maybe doing what driver suggested would be the best solution for a trial.
