Bottoz, you know we love you.  And we know you'll be getting an Atom again someday  :tu:

So Spanky was right, they put square clips on my axle to give me a hard time

I spent most of the night finishing this beast.  I hope it works because I didnt have directions.

I got the coolant lines off.  I got the fuel rail and injectors off and put the fuel pump and lines off to the side.  All I got now is the rest of the harness, shift and clutch cables and aftercooler hoses.

Nah, the clips have just gone square from all the levering.  ;)

There's no way you took that engine to AtomFest. It's way toooooo clean.

"I can see burrs on the right side of the groove & edges of the splines. It is no longer sharp like the left side edges of the groove. "

I believe you will find that is just mung on there.
Some companies use circular retainers and some square cut.The grooves in the side gear are bevelled so it really makes no difference as to the shape of the clip.

Most aftermarket axles use square cut retainer clips as they have been proven to be much more durable.

No one can say that you didn't use enough effort getting the half shaft out. Looking at the latest photo of the clip groove, I can see burrs on the right side of the groove & edges of the splines. It is no longer sharp like the left side edges of the groove.

It definitely took some force but does not look too bad.

Yep, I have rolls of CF on my dinning room table, intake manifolds in the kitchen, and Atom parts in the living room.  Glad my ex-wife stole... I mean won... all the furniture
