Catch Can Results
Catch Can Results
After the engine break in on the dyno, dyno testing the new pulley, and 65+ track miles, I checked the catch can for any oil blow by. It was bone dry. I've got 90 miles total on the engine. I figured we could post our results here.
The drain plug is screwed on pretty tight. Righty tighty, lefty lucy! I put on a little vacum tube I use for brake bleeding at the exit of the catch can. As you unscrew the valve, you can physically see when it's fully open or fully closed. The threads on the valve screw are visible. It's pretty simple.

Re: Catch Can Results
Just wondering if anyone has checked their catch can... and if so, did it have any oil in it.
Re: Catch Can Results
up until last week I did not even know what it was since I could not find it in the GM service manual for the ecotec.
Re: Catch Can Results
Well... even after 2 full track days and some 1/4 mile runs, there's no oil in the catch can.
