Hmm. Intersting. 
Mine is the K20A2 s\c but no heat shield.
I'll enquire. 
Does your heat shield rattle?

Has anyone thought about wrapping the exhaust pipe with the heat shielding wrap? Are there any drawbacks to wrapping up the exhaust?

wrapping shortens the life of the exhaust from what I understand

This is true.  Wrapping does a great job of holding in the heat, but at the expense of shortening the life of the exhaust tubing.

Not to mention that if you get coolant or oil on it, its a torch.
