Cheers guys.

Andrew, limited budget (hence doing most work myself) so if it could be cleaned up rather than replaced, it was cleaned or coated

Tough Q to answer. I did a lot of the tidying up while I was waiting for the frame to get done e.g. engine, lights, wrapping, spraying, nut 'n bolt polishing. Once I had the frame back I spent about 20hrs 3m wrapping it. The reassembly probably took me somewhere between 100 and 150hrs

The box is standard on an Atom 2 and is aluminium. I had it powdercoated. On Atom 2 it's behind the seat but it's in the engine bay on an Atom 3. I'm not sure what the ECU housing on a 3 is made of.

Thanks George. I don't think the factory need to worry about the competition - a once in a lifetime project I'm afraid

I've maintained, modified and tracked an BMW E30 for 10 years, lots of fun! This spring I changed it for an Atom 2, which I hope will be my track toy for the next 10 years or so. But good advice and information is certainly easier to find for the E30.. :-)

So.. the information in this thread is pure gold for me! Thanks Smokin :-)

GREAT STUFF. Looks showroom fresh! :tu:

If I had the time and the room to work on the car i'd love to try something similar.

This must be the best Atom 2 out there these day due to the fabulous condition!  :o

I must clean my car!  ;)
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.
