Changing fuel pump
Re: Changing fuel pump
No idea about the UK cars. On the Brammo Atom 2's, it's best to remove the firewall.
Re: Changing fuel pump
i"m 99% sure you'll have to put down the tank on UK Atoms. There is a topic about removing the tank somewhere.
Give a call to the factory just to be sure.

Re: Changing fuel pump
Any particular way how I should remove the firewall?
I don't know if it's a mandatory 'tank out' on a UK car or if you can get access by removing the firewall ..
Removing the firewall involves drilling out the rivets, (a last resort - has the undesirable effect that all of the rivet parts inside the frame tubes drop to the bottom and will forever rattle away and drive you nuts)
Ask the factory !
Are you changing it to upgrade it or is there some problem?

Re: Changing fuel pump
Isn't the fuel pump built into the sender unit that is inside the tank?
If that is the case you will have to drop the tank out to get access. Going thought the fire wall as mentioned would be loads more work, and even then I don't think access would be sufficient.

Re: Changing fuel pump
Thanks for the replies.
I am upgrading the Atom. This summer it will run on E85, smaller pulley on the supercharger and larger injectors
Is there any particular reason that it is constructed so you need to take the car apart for removing the tank?
What I understand, I need the remove alot of parts including the waterpump and squueze it down.

I'm assuming when they build the cars the tank goes in before the engine as it should just drop right in. It's a low volume manufacturer, therefore making things like fuel tanks easy to remove, probably isn't a high priority.
Getting it out isn't the nightmare you would think to be honest. Bit of hard work but very do-able. The water pump only needs to come off its mounting bolts in order to move it out the way, you don't need to completely disconnect it.
The best tip I can give is once unbolted, move and jack the tank up as high and wide to the near side as possible without crushing anything above, then it should pop out the lower off side.

Re: Changing fuel pump
Aha, there u go. I wonder if it's luck or judgment the tank can be removed at all once the cars built?

Re: Changing fuel pump
Just remove the firewell and that's ok. You can replace it bye a Skyline R33 model with some fitting.
Re: Changing fuel pump
