Atom3/300 alcon replacement

Post by davo » Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:29 am

Morning all,

finally taken a DTI to my alcon fronts and they both appear warped! 0.13/0.15mm deflection. only really feel it over 90mph then your fillings get loose!!

Gonna contact factory but wondered if anyone had tried different options/combos etc. Also does anyone know the replace alcon part number.

Cheers

Hi Davo

Bought a pair last week off Tom at Ariel.

Didn't think price was too bad and irrelevant really as they are an Ariel only part.

Alcon will not supply anyone.

Cheers

Stuart

PS Little tight on the fit side speak to Ariel re seating of replacement disc  ;)

Hi Pete

I remember now Nice car ;D

Ariel sent discs out following day and a half hour job each side to fit if the holes all line up!!!!!

I had a slight issue with seating but to be fair i had already been told this might happen.

If you speak to Ariel they will advise you but a little bit of dremmel work and all sorted  ;D

I am there on 7th to view Caterham SP300R If it turns up  >:(

It was suppose to be there on 27th but apparantely missing parts delayed it.

I'm back there on 21st Sept to give Hedges old Atom a blast and try out the "Tillets"  ;D

So might see you 7th or if not 21st.

Good luck with the brakes

Stuart

To be honest i was surprised how quite Sat 27th was for superb track on a weekend.

Croft very similar on the Monday.

BAT do restrict numbers but i do think the more expensive trackdays are struggling for numbers.

Blyton Park at £99 or £129 is full everytime  ;D

I hope the weather is kinder if you drive there again  ;)

Cheers

Stuart
