Vibration

Post by dazzas-atom300 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:15 pm

Many years ago when i first got a bike, a 350lc  ;D those were the days ;) there were some times when the bike used to vibrate more, used to put it down to it being a two stroke. over the years i've found engine traits like this have been down to temps and what type of day it is...

Now to the Atom, often the Atom really has a bad vibration that is sometimes there and some not, it moves around too, and trying to find the sweet spot when cruising can be a problem. sometimes its super smooth at 3.5k sometimes it vibrates it t!ts off...
Today the vibration was worse than normal, to the point where it was annoying the sh!t out of me, and my hands where buzzing like mad.
it was that bad today i was sure i had a problem, it felt very bad in fact and wasn't pleasent to drive tbh :-\
checked everything but all seems fine.. just wonderd if anyone else has noticed this, or have noticed the vides getting worse for some reason. ???

My suggestion is to trade down to a 160. All the fun but with no vibration.  I don't know what you are on about  ???

You are not alone - there is a definte buzz at 3500rpm. Some people rather like it. Personally it's annoying.

But as they used to say with my TVR... TADTS

[/quote]... 160 has a balancer shaft in the engine, so its a lot smoother :tu:

The 2.0 litre v-tec does not.

What're you doing driving round at 3500rpm - no wonder you can't keep up with an Evo!  ;)

I couldn't keep up with an Evo at the weekend either - a pesky 3 door one at that...

It has never vibrated so much it has had any effect on my hands, sounds like something is up, alignment perhaps or a higher frequency thing ?

Different tyres?  My 48R's gave a much harsher ride than the old road tyres?
