Wrapping question

Post by Charlie » Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:27 pm

I was a sign maker previously and worked with vinyl a lot however I am thinking of wrapping the atom 4 air intake and bonnet however can not get my head round how to wrap the air intake in 1 piece as the vinyl would have to go inside the scoop a bit and also underneath it’s a long shot but does anyone happen to know how you would go about wrapping the air intake even in 2 pieces without noticeable joins?

Check this recent link discussing PPF for the '4' that includes a Pro's template - it seems to show the Air Box film in several pieces !

Yeah I think one piece would be tough. The guys that did my wrap did it in two pieces with a little strip down the middle to join them. If you zoom in on my attached picture, you might just about be able to see the join but it's very well done and you'd have to be up really close to see it. The inside of the snorkel is a separate piece too but again, hard to see unless your face is in the snorkel.

Here are a couple of pics I just took which hopefully show the join on the top and then the bottom piece that feeds into the snorkel - car has still got all of the bugs from Anglesey on it 🤣🤦‍♂️

Chrome is notoriously a PITA to wrap too!
