Need help sourcing pulley
Need help sourcing pulley
I have a Brammo Atom 2, 245 hp with supercharger. The supercharger crapped out on me. To keep it simple, I got a new GM supercharge like what was originally on the car. The original Brammo pulley is smaller than what normally comes with the new supercharger and I want to keep it the same size as the Brammo pulley so that I do not have to re-tune the car.
The pulley on the old supercharger had seized up and will not come off with a pulley puller, 30,000 pound press, with our without heat ect....
So, I need to find a pulley that is the same size as the original pulley that Brammo put on the supercharger.
Does anyone know where I can find one???
Thanks

Re: Need help sourcing pulley
There are quite a number of vendors on the Cobalt SS forums. I have one of these. Very lightweight and nice construction.
300hp Ecotec Atom that is driven. Visit my website.
Re: Need help sourcing pulley
I have a used but still in great shape pulley from Brammo. It has the 3 punch marks to identify its' size. You can have it for free if you want to come to Euless to get it.
Re: Need help sourcing pulley
I have the brammo stage 2 and brammo stage 3. you can have either as well.
To exactly match what you had before you need the stage 2 b/c yours was built as a 245.
none of the aftermarkets are going to exactly match your original pulley size, BUT, the differences of an after market pulley are
1: the hub can be mounted once then different sized pulleys can be used to make more / less hp without having to pull the hub off again therefore you just remove some set screws and your pulley will come off.
2: your tune isn't that good anyways, so if you got a different sized pulley you could retune the car anyways. (but that costs more money)

Re: Need help sourcing pulley
I have the pulley off of a 245 spare.
Please measure yours, and I'll measure mine to confirm that they match.

Big thanks to Silver... Also, thanks to Spanky for offering me his, I just had already picked up the one from Silver.
Also, Silver, getting new fuel gasket like you suggested.

This is why i see the 20 bucks as a good deal for the club/forum, even for a US member. That being said, I still need to renew.

Re: Need help sourcing pulley
Mine is 18 3/4 " long . That is the metal portion up to the rubber plug ... the rubber plug is another 1 ". So the total length inside the tube is 19 3/4 "
