Northwest Atoms to Superfest
Northwest Atoms to Superfest
TMI is asking for 7 firm commitments in order to organize transport to VIR in Nov.
Truck will leave from Seattle and go through Portland, hang around for 3 or 4 days and then return. Cost to be determined but it'll be a lot cheaper than dragging your own trailer.

Re: Northwest Atoms to Superfest
What about a stop in SF or Sacramento to pick up some SF area atoms, then I -80 East?

Or So Cal and pick up mine!
I am pretty sure there are plans for a CA pick-up.
November is a crap time to drive across country in the Atom. It will cost me about $4K in diesel to to haul my Atom to VA, so a transporter is mandatory IMHO to get CA participants. I am booked to attend and I am waiting to see what options come up regarding this. Anything less than $2k on transportation hauling is a go for me.

How about temps/precip in VA at that time? Time to pack chains?

Re: Northwest Atoms to Superfest
It looks like we can't drum up any support for this. Pathetic
Re: Northwest Atoms to Superfest
No actually what is pathetic is asking folks to come across country in open top cars in November of all months, then asking for a minimum of 7 cars to sign up in an area that has maybe 12 total.
Re: Northwest Atoms to Superfest
I'd love to be able to ship my Atom and make the trip, but certain family developments are keeping me grounded after June of this year.
Hopefully something will come together for those interested!

Re: Northwest Atoms to Superfest
Last time I spoke to TMI, they were actively getting prices for truck transportation to & from VIR for the West Coast. That was about a month ago.
If the return trip to haul the car was under $2K, would any NW Atoms sign up?
The November date certainly rules out a cross country drive for me and I am sure just about any other West Coast Atom owner. I am pretty sure TMI know this is the case and any west coast participation will be contingent on reasonable cost of transportation.
