I have one of these inserts installed.  No idea if it has much of an effect by itself, but it was easy enough to drop in and it was worth a shot in the interest of quieting things as much as possible.

What I can tell you is that 92dB is street legal as defined by vehicle code. If it's loud.. it's too loud. The M62 heaton blower whine doesn't seem to matter. Lower frequencies have a larger impact.

You can hear from the general audio that it's about what you'd hear on a busy freeway and none that ear piercing rotary sound.
