Post Your Order to Delivery Dates Here
Re: Post Your Order to Delivery Dates Here
One last comment.
Ariel quoted 0-100 6 seconds for 3.5R
Top Gear tested 0-100 5.8 for 3.5R with Sadev.
It is insane, I had a supercharged 3 for nearly 10 years so I'm accustomed to the shove, but this car is on a totally different level.
I absolutely and totally am blown away by this.
In case you're not sure, I've recently been in a well driven 911 turbo, 675LT and F12 owned by mates and they simply do not compare.

Again, that looks stunning Alan. Your old car is bloody fast, so I can't imagine how quick your new one is! How many miles have you managed since collection? I took your old car out again yesterday in the cold down here in Cornwall - I just can't stop driving it. I have now managed 1,000 miles in it since I picked it up from the factory on 16th September.

Which engine do you have fitted to your new 3.5R?
Addendum (1 hour later) : I now realise that you must have a K20 fitted as you have a Sadev gearbox fitted - as a Sadev can't be fitted to the K24

May I suggest that you have the leading edges of your pods 'Stone guarded' (2 layers) ASAP as otherwise they very quickly get 'road rashed'!!

Protecting the pods is on my list of questions for the initial service. Something which looks ok, protects the surface and is removable without leaving a residue. Any suggestions?

As far as I'm aware Ariel don't provide a stone-guard application service - to get it stone guarded you will need either to apply it yourself using specialist liquid dissolved in water (not easy) or take it to a specialist vinyl wrapping company that offers a Stone-Guard application service.
There are various materials, of varying qualities, made by vinyl companies (mostly German or US based) available for this purpose - in the end I decided to use the 'gloss' 3M product (rather than the matt version) as I wanted it to 'catch the eye' of anyone standing close by to try and avoid any accidental 'kick' damage.
I had the leading edges of my pods done in early July this year immediately after my Atom arrived back in Cyprus (see the closeup photo in my previous post) after the rebuild and, barring the odd mark, they have stood up pretty well to the dust & stones on the Cyprus roads ever since.
I have been told that, properly applied, Stone-Guard is reasonably easily removed/replaced - however I would recommend applying a double layer of stone-guard rather than a single layer!

Re: Post Your Order to Delivery Dates Here
Having seen a 3.5R in for service at Ariel not long after they'd launched, with the sidepods looking horrendous in terms of damage, I'd strongly agree with you!autobackup wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 10:51 am May I suggest that you have the leading edges of your pods 'Stone guarded' (2 layers) ASAP as otherwise they very quickly get 'road rashed'!!
Re: Post Your Order to Delivery Dates Here
These for the advice chaps. The car deserves lurve...
I did the downchange, unburnt fuel, bang under a bridge earlier, I keep saying it sounds like a gunshot, actually it sounds like a f'ing bomb going off!
I don't know who else on here has the gearbox but it totally dominates the driving experience.
It's parked in my garage now with the cover on it and I want to go out and lick it for a while. I'm sure other R owners must feel the same. I'll shut up now.
