The charger came with a suitable length of wire and an in-line fuse, with battery terminal connectors attached.

The first bit of the cable routing was easy, nearer the nose to access the battery not so easy you need to take the plastic nose cone off, but do-able. If your not fussy its dead easy. To do a proper job its a bit fiddly. Or use one of the under bonnet connectors available but you will need to re-terminate the wire to suite the connector Ariel used.
  • Dual Waterproof USB charger including cable £9
  • 5mm Perspex Black Gloss Acrylic Plastic Sheet 100mm x 100mm £2.50
  • Motorbike bolt on phone holder £9
  • 3* M6 stainless bolts with washers and nuts (a few quid, although I bought a large box for future use)
If anyone wants specific details etc I can provide.

A nice little autumn evening DIY job for when the kids have gone to bed. :)

Does the mount twist? I can see it bends up etc but does it twist as i think I may be able to mount it behind the clocks.

The phone mount has a ball on the end. It spins around freely, and it tilts up and down and left and right. Not a massive amount of tilt angle (less than 45 degrees from memory).

The arm is also stiff but flexible metal so it can be bent to the required shape (although within reason).

No problem. Tbf the phone mount is so cheap i'd just buy one and have a go. If it doesn't fit its peanuts wasted. Or you might be able to DIY mod it or something.

Good luck. :) Post up if you work something good out. :tu:

Hi Pete, are you happy with the phone holder?
My car is in for a service with Ariel in December, and they will fit the holder and wire it in for me, just wanted to be sure that you think it is able to handle the G Force!

The holder is secure. It's for motorbikes and its bolted on. It's not going anywhere. It does wobble / vibrate a little bit though. It's not perfect, but it works, it's cheap, and it's not just a suction cup (which I don't trust long term). Ideally you want something with a shorter 'arm' to reduce the tendency to wobble / vibrate.
