Mobile Phone mount for the 4
Mobile Phone mount for the 4
Anyone sorted a phone mount yet for their new 4?
I want to mount the smartphone under the dash somewhere. Ideally a universal type mount with charging.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Peter

Re: Mobile Phone mount for the 4
I added a suction mount that has build in charging as I use a modern iPhone. Worked great for the sat nav and music

I'm thinking of something like this, so that I can charge and mount the phone or use the USB for heated clothing if required. There are better ones but this gives the idea:

I used a mag mount from Scosche, the large mag base and metallic base are pretty good.

I like the bar clamp idea, it looks secure. But i think we will need to be able to angle the phone as well as twist it to get the screen facing the driver. Tonight i will investigate the chassis tubes under the dash top. I am not sure how much room we have around the tubes.wasp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:35 pm I'm thinking of something like this, so that I can charge and mount the phone or use the USB for heated clothing if required. I am thinking this bolted to the plate under the dash:

Bolted here
Ordered. I will fit it next week and report back.

Perfect and rock solid too. Not bad for £8 from Amazon!
Fits any size phone
The bits you can't normally see. I may swap the old nut and bolt at some point (but its not visible).
This is the one if your interested > (looks like the price has gone up a little)

Swapped the bolts out for stainless and bolted a small black Perspex plate in place for the USB socket.

Did you just have the usb socket fitted, as I couldn’t see it in the previous pics?
It’s a nice set up you’ve got there.
