Yes its was Svens colour scheme that persuaded me. I did fancy a white frame but felt the cost too high.

Tom never mentioned the possible insurance problem without a tracker, I will check tomorrow and might have to get it added after delivery.

Spec’ed mine yesterday, virtually the same spec, but no wings, forged wheels, radiator or battery cutout. I’ve added carbon panels and hope to add the wings before I collect it.

Looking forward to getting it March/April.

Yes, I’ll need to check insurance as well in case I need one. Does the Ariel one come with a lifetime subscription or similar?

Good question, I'm not actually sure. Looking back through the thread and it seems some people have had a tracker make no difference to the insurance and worst case you can get a non-Ariel one fitted - probably for less money.

If Tracker isn't an insurance requirement then don't get one. I've found them (the company) absolutely useless over the years. Ariel would agree, too. There are much better - and cheaper - solutions out there.

Cheers,

What Hedge says... they're an utter shambles, and can takes weeks and many many many calls to get it setup. You'll also need a subscription, which if you pay up front is cheaper, but it's "lifetime of the device" so 4 or 5 years, as opposed to forever.

If you have to have one, best try elsewhere.

Doh, sounds like I was right to have not spec'd it in the first place - edit - Tom has removed the tracker from my spec now. If I need one then I'll go third party, thanks guys.

My Nomad is insured for a little over 60k and I didn't bother with a tracker. I think the subscription is about £100 per year and the difference to my insurance was less than that. It does limit your choice of insurers though (I think only Aplan and REIS gave me sensible quotes) but as long as the price is comparable does it matter?

Just an FYI - we dont use the company 'tracker' anymore... we use BikeTrac.

Much nicer people to deal with and a more suitable product as well.

I wouldn't bother with the tracker.

I specced one and have never activated it.

The tracker company wanted £100 a year or something and my insurers offered ZERO discount. :roflp:
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

I have a Global Telemetrics tracker fitted and I have found them to be very good

If I trailer my Atom and forget to advise them I usually get a phone call within 200 or 300m of setting off to tell me that the car is moving with the ignition off!

I also get a text message if the battery voltage drops too low.

A common theme on here - the spec started off significantly cheaper but as time went on, more options snuck their way into being ticked on the spreadsheet  I'm going to wrap the panels in some sort of lairy purple colour so it's just the standard black panels for now.

Now for the final agonising 4-6 month wait.
Nice 👍

Email received this morning that mine has just completed the IVA process and will be ready for delivery in a week. :)
Who would have thought that Friday 13th in 2020 would be the day the gloom lifted?
