Squeaky brakes??

Post by cutch » Wed Sep 26, 2018 6:22 pm

I've got alcons front and rear. Does anyone with these consistently have Squeaky brakes. It's driving me nuts!

It's normal with all race brakes cutch. Unless you're on them hard they squeal like little piggies. Plenty of old posts on here wrt it. Mintex CeraTec on the back of the pads helps.

I read somewhere on the forum that filing a chamfer on the edges of the brake pads will help.

The trouble is you need to do it again when they wear down!

Incidentally, I have now fitted pads from an AUDI 80 Rs2 Quattro 94-95 (rear) - no squeal at all!
