Rota Slipstream experiences?

Post by Bas_Himself » Sat Jul 28, 2018 9:30 am

Hi everyone,

i found a topic about a bulk buy of Rota slipstreams from a few years ago. I have the impression there's not too much choice in aftermarket wheels.

The Rota's look like one of the few wheels you can easily purchase (via Skunkwurx).

What are your experiences with them?

I'd like to buy them for road and track use with R888R's.

Many thanks!

They are good looking wheels, weighted them at 6.02kg FR, 7.83 RR

I also wanted larger rims and as the dymag ones were quite expensive and I wanted them most for track use I bought the rota slipstreams from skunkwurx as the were not too expensive available in stock and the right size and offset to use with the 3.5r lager tyres.

They fit perfectly and clear the alcon calipers.

Even if on internet you can find some problems with some rota wheels I think that with the design of the slipstream with large spokes and the light weight of the atom there should not be particular problems.

I used them already a few times on the track and at the moment everything is ok.

Only little problem was that I received them with 2 missing center caps and I had to buy them as a spare from rota uk

We used Rota's on all our race cars without an issue. Strong and reasonably light.
Great wheels. :tu:
